History

Originally a brand with only two products, we have grown and matured to encompass eight brands and more than 25 products across 12 product categories. Our history may not be as long as other established brands, but we have our fair share of stories to tell.
We started in 1995 as a division in the Kaybee Group, handling OEM (original equipment manufacturing) food businesses. Ten years on, we decided to capitalize on the massive yet untapped market potential in Africa with a focus on brand building. This gave birth to a separate venture in 2005 -- we named her 'Vega Foods'.
We embarked on this new path equipped with the sourcing strength and market experience from our parent group, expanded our core team with brand management experience and engaged Saatchi and Saatchi as our strategic brand consultants. Together, we have worked to develop a brand that seamlessly blends the best of modernity and tradition.
We realised that Africa, with its 900 million people and immense opportunity, was the final frontier. We identified Ghana as the gateway to Africa and planned our first foray into the continent, building our sales and distribution infrastructure in tandem with the growing needs of the country. We also established a strong team that would lead us to realise our dream in Ghana and replicate this success in other markets.
Today, our brand has a modern outlook, yet it remains heartwarmingly traditional in taste. Our products are of trusted quality, yet priced competitively to ensure they are within everyone's reach. Our belief that the enjoyment of eating is not a preserve of the affluent but should be open to all, is the premise to our corporate proclamation — Life is tasty!TM
